Nigeria’s Kamaru Usman emphatically underlined his status as the king of the welterweight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, ruthlessly dispatching Jorge Masvidal with a second-round knockout in the main event of UFC 261 on Sunday morning.
The event at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida saw the return of fans to a UFC event in the United States for the first time in more than a year, and Usman treated them to a devastating show of power.
The 33-year-old Nigerian moved to 19-1 and recorded a fourth successful defence of his championship by knocking Masvidal unconscious with a right cross just over one minute into the second round.
