NGO, Ministry of Health Sensitize Media Personnel on Tuberculosis in Sokoto

The Sokoto State Ministry of Health in partnership with USAID Nigeria and BreakThrough Action organized a-one-day sensitization workshop for Sokoto State Media personnel on Tuberculosis at Emergency Operation Centre, Sokoto on Tuesday.

The sensitization which was conducted virtually alongside six other States including Yobe, Kogi, Adamawa, Anambra, Kaduna and Jigawa was aimed at equipping media personnel with ways of controlling Tuberculosis in Nigeria.

The workshop was focused on capacity building on Tuberculosis, story telling and

training journalists to accurately report on TB and generate more positive action following reporting.

Also participants were sensitized on similarities and differences between TB and COVID-19.

The Sokoto state team was led by the State TB program manager, Dr Bello Umar Tambuwal and participants were drawn from all the state media houses, correspondents, prints and electronic media.

Caliphate Times Media was among the participants at the training.
