The former President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Bello Bala Shagari has picked ticket to contest for Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairman under the flagship of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Shagari, an indigene of Sokoto State from Shagari Local Government Area and a grandson to former President, Shehu Usman Shagari has participated in many Youth advocacy and activism in the country.
He made the declaration in a statement Friday citing the kind of encouragement and support Nigerian Youths got from President Buhari to participate in political activities.
He said, “In our last visit to the President, as party youths, the President has encouraged us to participate in political activities and run for political offices in order to bring about a paradigm shift.
“Our great party the APC has also demonstrated a great deal of zeal by providing us a platform to showcase ourselves.”
“My aim is to demonstrate competence in governance by providing the people of Abuja Municipal with a rejuvenating leadership. Abuja Municipal Area deserves the best of everything in terms of development. It is the center of unity and the seat of the power,” Shagari states.
The election is scheduled to hold on February 12, 2022 by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
